Snowy March Day...

Woke up to snow this morning, but now it looks like it is melting off. Ugh, I am so ready for warmer weather! Bryar and I need to get out on some walks or something.
The last few weeks have been pretty full, I would say. We have been keeping busy with our projects around the house, work, and school. We used some of our tax money to get a few things for around the house, including paint for the dressers and TV stand, a new rug for the kitchen and a really pretty rug for the living room (because the carpet is REALLY ugly). We bought a new lamp for the living room, which I am very excited about because it always felt so dark in here, like some sort of cave after the sun went down. We even got a new mattress, which was great but now I am to the point where I am just not comfortable period so I may as well sleep on the floor as try to climb up onto that thing. But David loves it and it should last a long time. I have been working on getting the girls room all situated, it is turning out pretty cute (see above pictures). David took our closet doors down and sanded and painted them, they look 100 times better now and we are planning on doing the same to the rest of the doors upstairs. I will post pictures of the rest of the place after we finish all the painting.

Last week while I was driving to school I heard them say they were going to give away a pair of passes to the Alice in Wonderland advance screening. Lucky me that I just happened to pull into the gas station at the right time and be the 97th text. We got to go see the movie on Tuesday, 3 days before it was released, and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I will probably have to go see it again ;o)

As for Bryar, she is doing really well. We bought her a potty chair just to see how it would go over, and the 2nd night we had it she actually used it! She hasn't since, but she seems to think it is a lot of fun to go sit on it. She's growing so fast. Every now and then she'll say please and thank you without a reminder, so I think she might be beginning to understand what that means.

As you can see, she is still very into Spongebob. Grandma Bonnie spoiled her and bought her the PJ's she's wearing in the picture, and she HAD to wear them that night...

Well, I guess that about covers it for now. I have put in my two weeks notice at WalMart and will be taking an extra class in my next module, hopefully my graduation date will move up a little. (fingers crossed!)

Valentines Day & More...

Hello again. Things have remained quiet around here, not much to update on but I will try.

The picture below is the finished product for the "Cute Couple" cross stitch. David and I made a stencil for the word "love" and found a frame at the dollar store. I used green because I needed a way to tie it into the living room, and that is where it now hanging.

David and I haven't been up to much ourselves, he is still working as hard as ever and I am still doing well in school. I received a letter from the school the other day stating I had made the Dean's List for this quarter, and I have a new class starting this week (medical coding and billing). I plan on working until May 1st, and David is trying to accrue as much PTO as possible in order to be able to take time off when the baby comes. David also just passed his Hunter's Safety class/test with 100% on the written AND shooting. They even gave him a nifty little patch to sew onto his vest/coat. Now we just need to get him a hunting vest/coat...

Bryar is doing well, being as good as an almost two-year-old can be, I suppose. She's into everything and very curious. She also thinks she is very helpful, she likes to help UNfold the laundry, and UNload the dishwasher...

Andi and Sadi came over Saturday night while mom went out. It was starting to get late and Sadi and Bryar snuggled while watching "Finding Nemo" (they were on the floor 'cause Andi was playing Guitar Hero on the big TV). Sadi fell asleep right there, and David had to carry her out to the truck!

Valentines Day was yesterday. We had decided not to do anything fancy, so I just left a monkey balloon and a few treats for Bryar to find in the morning since I had to work. When I got home David surprised me with roses and pink sugar cookies (I LOVE pink sugar cookies!). It was also Sadi Sue's 6th birthday, so mom treated us all to Wingers and Baskin Robbins. Too bad Bryar was kind of being a terd... But it was nice just the same.

Bryar always wants "pretties" in her hair, and I don't like the amount they charge for them at the boutiques and so I went out and bought a 12-pack of clips for $2.50 and used ribbon I already had to make her some. I think they have turned out pretty cute so far...

I think that is all for now. We don't have much planned in the next few weeks, just looking forward to getting our taxes back (and paying off bills YAY!). Seems that the snow has stopped for now and we're in for a few days of rain, so maybe Spring is around the corner? We can only hope ;o)

Cute Couple Cross Stitch

I really just LOVE this one. I did it just for fun, and it's the first cross stitch project I've finished I am actually keeping for myself.

Quiet February...

At the beginning of another week... Well, kinda. Anyhow, it has been quiet around here for the most part. Bryar is crazy and cute and really energetic, getting into all sorts of toddler trouble. Her new thing is to say " 'scuse you" when anyone burps or toots or gets in her way. Too cute! And, as you can see, she likes the lizards. I am not 100% sure they like her though...

David is still working hard, but he doesn't have to try and do the work of 2 1/2 people anymore, so that is nice. We are looking forward to getting some projects around home done in the next little while, including repainting the entertainment stand, refinishing my dresser & nightstand, painting the closet doors in the bedroom, and getting the "girls" room all dialed in.

We took Christian (David's lil brother) to see Sherlock Holmes last weekend while Monica and Chris were out of town. It is the 2nd time David and I have seen it, and I LOVE that movie!!

I am in my third week of this module (only 1 1/2 weeks left!) and having two classes hasn't been too bad, especially since they are basically teaching the same thing. The baby bump grows ever bigger, and my bestie Ashley (who is also expecting!) made me the super cute shirt I am wearing in the photo below. I don't know if it is the pregnancy or some new found creative streak, but I have been really into making everything. Like, when I saw what Aunt Jan made for Andi and Sadi's birthday I decided I needed to do that for my girls (overalls with the pants cut off and cute fabric sewn on to make a darling dress!) and am currently looking for the overalls to do so. I also found a pattern for a carseat cover like the ones they sell at Quilted Bear for $45, so I am looking forward to getting fabric for that... I also have a cross stitch in the works for the new baby, one just finished (it's a gift for someone, so I can't show you!) and one that I finally went and got a frame for so I can dislplay it. I also organized all my embroidery floss...

6 years...

So, David and I have an "unoffical" anniversary on January 13th, which is the day we started dating. So, I thought I was being sneaky when I got David a card and a little treat to surprise him before he left for work that morning, but of course he outdid me with flowers, cinnamon hearts, chocolates, and of course a sweet card when I got home that night. Awesome!!! Makes me wonder what he has up his sleeve for our real anniversary in June! I am sure we will eventually forget about this, like when we have been married 75 years and can't even remember who that person next to us on the couch is...

Other than that, it has been pretty quiet around here. On Saturday my lil' sis Andi turned 9 (we got her an easy bake oven, and now I want one!) and we went to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks" with her. Bryar LOVED it! She was so good and just snacked on popcorn and danced in the aisle. Then we went to Chuck-E-Cheese, which was crowed but always fun anyway. Bryar won enough tickets to get a crazy straw, so she was happy. And, if that wasn't enough, we went to get ice cream after that! Bryar slept really well that night...

David is still working long, 6-day work weeks for the hospice company, but hopefully this is the last week because the new guy starts next week. It will be nice to have him around the house again :o)

I start two new classes this week, I am hoping at least one of them is online. Should only have another month or two of the pharmacy classes, then maybe I can take my test before the baby comes! Well, it's a nice thought, anyway...

Knifty Knitter

So, I was pretty spoiled this Christmas, as we already know. One of my gifts was a gift card to Michaels (thanks Paps!). After using it to buy a cross stitch kit for the new baby, I was wandering and spotted the Knifty Knitter. So I bought the circle loom set, because I am just not that great at knitting with needles but I like hats. I was playing with it a few nights later when David, who couldn't sleep decided he wanted to learn to knit too. And now he has knit three hats, two that would fit the new baby, and one for Bryar (that she loves!). I have not finished mine yet, as I am distracted by another cross stitch project, a book, and a game. But we both really enjoyed it, so we went and used our 50% off coupon to get the long loom set (so now we can make blankets and scarves, and I even found a pattern for leg warmers).

Other than knitting, our last week seemed really long and also really short. David worked the last 13 days, and some of them were 10-12 hour days. I also worked Monday through Friday, then had the weekend off, which went by entirely too fast.I have been in a Pharmacy class this last module that is mostly learning math calculations. I understand the math, but remembering what steps go where is the challenge. I have two classes starting next module (which is next week) so we'll see how that goes...

Bryar is doing really well. She seems to be learning fast, saying a new word everyday and stringing together sentences. She wants to watch her Spongebob movie that she got for Christmas ALL THE TIME, and it's funny to watch her giggle at it. She is getting so independent, she insists on walking everywhere and even tries to dress herself. She is a lot of fun, even when she drives me crazy :o)

Well this week we don't have any big plans, just working and school. On the 13th, David and I will have been "together" for 6 years. Andyes, we still like each other enough to remember silly little days like that. I hope you all have a good week!

Happy New Year!!

I hope you all enjoyed your holidays! I have not updated this thing in forever, but now I figured out how to make the pictures do what I want, so I guess my resolution will be to keep this updated for all of our far away friends and family.
To start with, we spent Thanksgiving at Monica and Chris' home, with David's family and also my mom and the girls. Everyone had a good time, not to mention a good meal! I even tried my hand at Pumpkin Cheesecake, and it turned out wonderfully. That same week we put up our Christmas tree and decorations, David even made this awesome shelf just for the stockings.



As we went into December, it seemed like things just kept getting busier. David got a few new patients added to his schedule, and worked a lot of extra hours. I was also working, of course, and going to school (even though we did get a winter break over the holidays). I also picked up a few projects, including making a blanket for Bryar (see pic of fabric below), a few recieving blankets that went to the hospital, and PJ pants for all three of us to wear for Christmas.

These are the pics we took for our Christmas card. Bryar is the cutest part of the family, so she got all three picture spots on the card :o)

This is a pic of Bryar modeling the PJ pants I made her. They are very snuggly and soft, David wouldn't even wait for Christmas to wear his!

Over the Christmas break my sisters Andi and Sadi got to come spend the days with us. David and I took them sledding one day, and it was so much fun! Of course, everyone was exhausted when we got home...

Then the girls and I made sugar cookie for Santa. Bryar ate more frosting than anything...

On the 19th we got to attend the Savoie family Christmas party, which is always so much fun. G'ma goes all out, and I look forward to it all year!

The day of Christmas Eve Bryar and I drove up to Heber to see my dad's family. Aunt Mary Ann was in town, so Bryar got to play with her cousin Maggie (very CUTE little girl, by the way!) along with her aunts and uncle. It was a nice visit, I wish it was able to happen more often...

When Bryar and I got home that night we discovered Santa had come early (wink, wink).

Bryar was thrilled with her presents, like the play tent w/tunnel and especially the toddler bed that David built for her (yes, we all know he is ridiculously talented!). SHe also got over 20 books, and some other small items. David got a nice new pea coat, that he looks really good in, along with a lot of stuff for camping next summer. I got some cute boots that I can wear around in all this snow and still look cute, and also a new hoodie, a new Kingdom Hearts game for my DS, and some make-up (I feel spoiled).

After our Christmas, we headed over to Chris and Monica's, where we all got even more spoiled. Bryar got all sorts of things to take care of her baby, David got a new coffee pot, and I got all sorts of things, including a gift card to Michaels, which I have already used :o)

When we woke up Christmas morning we were all sick with a cold (Bryar had an especially nasty sounding cough), but we did spend a little while with my mom. She made this beautiful quilt for Bryar, and that is a picture of me in my new boots. Mom also got us a new camera for Christmas that we got early so we could take all these wonderful pictures...

We spent the rest of our holiday relaxing and enjoying our time with family. It was a very nice Christmas, and we are lucky to have such awesome family to spend it with. We are still fighting off those colds, though...

While enjoying a morning off together, David and I decided to make crepes, which were delicious, but I dropped the jar of flour in the process...

You may have noticed my rather "fluffy" belly in the above pic, and if you don't already know, we are expecting our second child in May of this year!! And we just had the 20 week ultrasound, which not only showed us a very healthy baby, but we found out we're having another GIRL!!
